Email support@joinplaydate.app. For account questions, write from the email address you signed up with so we can find your account. We usually reply within 2 business days.
Report, block or unmatch someone
- From a chat: tap ••• at the top right, then Unmatch, Block or Report.
- From Discover: tap ••• on their card, then Block or Report.
Reporting someone also blocks them, so you won't see each other again. They're never told who reported them. A person reviews every report.
Verification
Why do I need to verify?
Everyone on PlayDate has passed an ID and selfie check, so you know your matches are real people aged 21 or over.
Who sees my ID?
The check is run by Stripe. PlayDate never receives your ID photos or selfie, and your ID is never shown on your profile.
My verification failed
Try again in good light with a valid, unexpired ID, and make sure your face is clearly visible in the selfie. If it keeps failing, email us.
Cons and Con Mode
Add the cons you're going to in Profile → Cons I'm going to. People going to the same cons show up first in Discover. From the day before a con until it ends, a Con Mode switch appears on Discover that shows only people at that con. Don't see a con you're going to? Email us and we'll add it.
Your account
- Forgot your password? On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and we'll email you a code.
- Not getting notifications? Check that notifications are allowed for PlayDate in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account: see how to delete your account.
Safety tips
- Meet in public for the first few dates. A busy con floor, a café or a con's food court are good spots.
- Tell a friend who you're meeting, where and when.
- Get yourself there and back. Keep control of your own transport.
- Never send money or financial details to someone you've met on PlayDate, whatever the story.
- Keep the chat in PlayDate until you trust them, so you can report them if needed.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, leave, and report them.
- At cons: share your schedule with friends, stay in public areas, and look after your drink.
